A 19th-century shipping strategy and trading simulation
1869 is a strategy and economics trading game set in the late 19th century, a period marked by civil wars and international conflicts. Players take charge of a fledgling shipping company and use tactical and business decisions to pursue profitable trading opportunities around the world.
Successful management allows the company to expand, while poor decisions can threaten the entire venture. The game includes brief animation sequences and humorous interludes, along with nautical-themed chip music.
1869 supports multiplayer competition for up to four players, letting friends battle for control of the high seas. It was developed by Max Design and published by Max Design and Flare Software for Amiga and DOS platforms.
