About this game

1943: Kai is an enhanced version of 1943: The Battle of Midway developed by Capcom and published by Naxat Soft. Released on March 22, 1991, it features extensively reworked graphics and sound alongside changes to the weapon system.

The game introduces deliberately anachronistic elements, including laser-firing WWII planes and ships that travel on land. Players control a Boeing Stearman E75 N68828 biplane rather than the P-38.

The NEC PC Engine and TurboGrafx-16 adaptation adds original levels to the arcade content and includes animated intermissions.
