About this game

5th Fleet is a hex-based strategic wargame based on the 5th Fleet board game. Designed for two players, it allows each side to command a war party, with larger conflicts able to represent several countries.

Gameplay is strictly turn-based. Each day consists of six rounds, with three rounds for each player, and every turn is divided into submarine, ship, and aircraft phases. Players issue movement and attack orders across strategic and tactical map views: the strategic map covers the entire operational zone, while the tactical map provides a closer view of individual areas. Replenishment also becomes important during longer matches.

The single-player mode includes ten scenarios set in the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf. Players command the American fleet and generally face Russian forces, with scenarios increasing in difficulty.
