NES-inspired first-person shooter set during humanity’s final mission
8Bit Killer is an action first-person shooter set in AD 2488, after a long war has pushed humanity toward self-extinction. When the space creature known as Master Brain leads an attack on the remaining active cities, a small alliance of soldiers begins its final mission: defend the cities and destroy Master Brain.
The game is styled to resemble an early-1990s NES title, using 32×32 pixel textures, a 64-color NES palette, and 1-bit sounds. Its soundtrack was created by RushJet1. The story, characters, and scenes draw inspiration from films such as Mad Max and 2013: Rescue in LA, as well as games including Contra, Megaman, Bionic Commando, Metroid, Catacomb 3D, and Wolfenstein 3D.
