A text-based interactive fiction adventure about simulating the future
The briefing
In A Mind Forever Voyaging, the year is 2031 and the world is close to economic collapse. To assess the president’s proposed solution, the PRISM computer project sends its newly awakened artificial intelligence into simulations of human life and a changing future.
As PRISM, you explore the town of Rockvil, recording everyday events and special activities across successive ten-year simulations. Limited recording capacity requires you to return from the simulation and submit your findings before continuing the investigation.
This text-based adventure is driven by typed commands and detailed descriptions. Alongside the simulations, you can access communications systems, read documents in the library, and interact with PRISM’s subsystems through the interlace. The game focuses more on observing how the plan affects Rockvil and its people over time than on traditional puzzle-solving.
