About this game

ABM is an early Missile Command-style arcade shooter for the Apple II. Players command five anti-ballistic missile bases defending Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, and Richmond from waves of incoming nuclear warheads.

The three outer and central launchers use standard 1-kiloton missiles, while the remaining two fire more powerful 5-kiloton missiles with larger blast radii. Warheads can be destroyed by catching them in an explosion, and some create fireballs that may trigger chain reactions and conserve ammunition. MIRVs add another threat by splitting in flight into multiple warheads aimed at different targets.

The game ends when all six cities are destroyed. Scoring rewards both the number of missiles intercepted and ammunition conservation.
