A 1989 Amstrad CPC action game about navigating a helicopter-like character through rotating balls
In Airballs, players control a small helicopter-like character tasked with clearing levels filled with rotating balls. Opponents can be burst from above, causing a small ball to fall or bounce across the ground.
These released balls must be collected before they disappear and allow a new opponent to appear. Colliding with an opponent from below sends the character into a tailspin, while falling through a ledge costs a life. Later levels add side and altitude winds, along with a dangerous upper ball formation that pursues the player.
The character can hover using the rotor, with controls supporting a joystick or keyboard input. An extra life is awarded for every 10,000 points.
