The briefing

About this game

In Alcatraz, a drug baron has taken control of the prison, and a U.S. Navy SEAL must infiltrate the facility, complete objectives in three buildings, and neutralize him within two hours.

The game combines two styles of play. Outside, side-scrolling combat takes the player through streets filled with hostile thugs. Weapons such as flamethrowers, machine guns, bombs, and close-combat equipment can be collected from defeated enemies, while certain locations allow the character to hide in the background.

Inside the buildings, the perspective changes to first-person shooting. Players navigate maze-like interiors using a radar and rifle while working toward objectives such as recovering evidence.
