Alex Ferguson's Player Manager 2001 puts you in charge of a football club competing in the English, French, or Belgian league systems, beginning in 2001. Your responsibilities include choosing tactics, organizing training, monitoring player abilities, recruiting talent, managing finances, and pursuing objectives such as Champions League qualification or protecting the club’s reputation.

Alongside league fixtures, the season includes friendlies and cup matches. Games can be viewed in real time in 3D, with the option to make substitutions and tactical changes during play.
