Alien World

Alien World is a scrolling shoot-'em-up starring Kai, who has been transformed into an insect after Slough Feg kidnaps his sweetheart, Medb. With magical assistance from the Druid Lords, Kai travels through the Cave of Dreams to rescue her.

Levels scroll horizontally or vertically, and the screen advances only as Kai moves forward, preventing him from retracing his steps. Enemies may leave behind weapon power-ups or Zen, which can be spent in shops on health and additional weapons.

Kai begins with three lives and two energy dots. The joystick controls movement, while leaving it untouched allows gravity to take effect; the fire button activates the equipped weapon. The display shows the score, Zen, energy, lives, and available weapons.

Released in 1990 for Amiga, Atari ST, Atari ST/STE, and Commodore 64, the game was developed by David Long and PAL Developments and published by Hi-Tec Software Ltd.
