American Pool is a 3D billiards game for PlayStation, published by Mud Duck and developed by Digicube. It includes three gameplay modes: Training, Pocket Game, and Pool Contest.

Game Modes

  • Training: Learn controls and pool techniques by completing tasks and problems.
  • Pocket Game: Play 9-Ball, 8-Ball, Basic, Rotation, or 14-1 Rack.
  • Pool Contest: Create a character and compete in a bracketed 9-Ball tournament while gaining levels and unlocking special abilities.

Special Skills and Rules

Unlockable abilities include Low Tech, which adds an aiming line from the cue ball; Easy Shot, which slows the power gauge by one-third; and Free Ball, which allows the cue ball to be placed anywhere. The game also uses Texas Express Rules for 9-Ball, requires players to call their shots in 8-Ball, and awards the break shot in 14-1 Rack to the player who wins the opening bank.
