Ankoku Shinwa: Yamato Takeru Densetsu is an adventure game for the Family Computer, also known as the Nintendo Famicom. Based on Daijiro Morohoshi’s manga, it follows a distant descendant or reincarnation of the legendary Yamato prince Takeru.
After investigating his father’s death, the protagonist uncovers a plan by surviving members of the Kumaso clan to resurrect their dark gods. Players explore locations, search for clues, and speak with non-player characters through a menu-driven interface. Certain encounters shift into side-view action sequences featuring boss battles.
