The briefing
Ape Escape is an action-adventure platform game developed by Sony Japan Studio and published by Sony. Released on June 18, 1999, it served as a showcase for the PlayStation DualShock controller, using the left analog stick for movement and the right stick to operate gadgets.
The story follows Specter, a monkey who gains extraordinary intelligence through a Pipo helmet and creates an army to conquer time. As Spike, players travel through various historical periods and use the Professor's monkey-catching gadgets to capture the mischievous monkeys and stop Specter's plan.
