About this game

In Asterix and the Magic Cauldron, Getafix’s magic cauldron has been smashed into several pieces, leaving Asterix and Obelix to search for them across the only Gaulish village resisting the Roman invasion.

This arcade adventure features 50 screens spanning the home village, a Roman encampment, and the surrounding forests. Keys unlock blocked sections, while contact with wild boars or Roman soldiers leads to one-on-one fights using punches and kicks. Wild boar can also provide food to restore energy after lives are lost.

The game was developed by Beam Software and published by Melbourne House for Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, Commodore C64/128/MAX, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. In the US version, Asterix was replaced by a barbarian and the title changed to Ardok the Barbarian.
