A European flick-screen platform adventure starring Monty
The briefing
In Auf Wiedersehen Monty, Monty travels around Europe collecting money so he can buy the Greek island of Montos and retire there safely. The game uses flick-screen platform gameplay in the style of 1980s titles such as Technician Ted and Jet Set Willy.
Monty explores locations inspired by real places, including the Eiffel Tower, the Pyrenees, and cities across Europe. Along the way, he can collect country-specific objects for points, air tickets for faster travel by plane, and various unusual items that trigger distinctive effects or references.
Collecting enough points is necessary to reach Montos. The game was developed and published by Gremlin Graphics Software, with Peter Harrap credited among its developers.
