The briefing

About this game

Australo Piticus Mechanicus is an action-platform game for the Amiga. You guide Androids van Laptop on a quest to rescue his lost maiden across eight levels built from fixed, flip-screen areas rather than scrolling environments.

Exploration includes jumping, climbing ladders, collecting and using objects, and finding keys. Combat supports sword attacks when a sword is available, as well as thrown stones for ranged attacks. Money and gems can be collected and spent at frequently placed shops on improved weapons.

The protagonist has hit points for health and strength, which determines damage and is influenced by equipped weapons and equipment. After loading, an optional text-based Unix-like “system” console can also be entered, containing commands for a Space Invaders game and pictures of the developers.
