An isometric Breakout-style arcade game
The briefing
Ball Breaker is a Breakout variant played from an isometric perspective. The player controls a paddle fixed to the right side of the screen, moving it vertically to bounce the ball into the playfield and keep it from falling out.
The goal is to vaporize every block by hitting it with the ball. A limited supply of missiles can also destroy blocks or aliens directly. Aliens appear on higher levels and must be avoided by the paddle. Blocks are stacked above the lower plane and fall when the blocks beneath them are removed.
Developed by Jay Derrett and Richard Taylor and published by CRL Group PLC, Ball Breaker was released in 1986 for Amstrad CPC and Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
