Batter Up

Batter Up is a baseball game for one or two players set in the fictional Namco League, which includes 14 teams with distinct rosters and player strengths and weaknesses.

Before a game, players choose their team, opponent, game length, stadium, and starting pitcher. Matches can last five or nine innings and take place in either a Park or City stadium; the City stadium has higher fences, making home runs more difficult.

Players control pitching, batting, baserunning, and fielding. Pitchers can use a variety of throws and curveballs, while batters can bunt. Pitcher and batter substitutions are also available. A password feature allows players to continue a series of games, and two-player matches support the Gear-to-Gear cable.
