Battle of the Bands

Battle of the Bands is a music rhythm game for Nintendo Wii, developed by Planet Moon Studios and published by THQ. Set in a fictional world where bands compete for musical supremacy, the game combines beat-matching with instrument-based attacks.

Gameplay

Songs shift between five styles—rock, country, marching band, hip hop, and ranchero—during short musical segments. Players match the beat and swing the Wii Remote in time with the music to earn points. Successful matches can trigger special attacks, including smoke bombs, land mines, and other quirky weapons. Scoring also helps keep the song playing in the player's chosen genre.

Modes and Content

• Versus mode for competitive multiplayer and party play.
• Adventure mode featuring battles against bands from different genres.
• 11 bands, 30 songs, and 70 weapons and attacks.
• Each song can be performed in five different musical styles, for a stated total of 150 tracks.

The track list includes songs associated with artists such as LL Cool J, AFI, The Ramones, Audioslave, Def Leppard, Gorillaz, Soundgarden, Tenacious D, and Cypress Hill.
