Battle Wings

Battle Wings is a vertically scrolling space shooter in which players pilot a space fighter through enemy-filled levels. Its arsenal includes Fire, Cannons, Jump, Hammer, Van, and Anti, with each weapon offering different strengths and limitations.

Cannon delivers powerful, rapid blasts directly ahead, while Van covers multiple directions at a slower rate. Anti creates a protective shield whenever it is fired, but has very short range. Weapons can be changed after losing a life, before the game is over, encouraging players to adapt their selection to each situation. Levels typically conclude with a boss encounter.

Originally released in 1986, Battle Wings appeared in arcades and on the Nintendo Famicom.
