About this game

Bazooka Bill is a side-scrolling combat game developed and published by Melbourne House. Players control Bazooka Bill as he attempts to rescue General Douglas MacArthur from a revolutionary faction.

The game combines platforming and shooting action across four stages: Clark Airbase, Leyte Island, Mindano Island, and Corregidor Island. Enemies include soldiers, helicopters, natives, rolling boulders, commandos, trucks, tanks, flail-wielding foot soldiers, and kamikaze dogs.

Weapons

  • Punches
  • Throwing knife
  • Machine gun
  • Flamethrower
  • Bazooka

The bazooka appears in the second stage and clears the entire screen. Enemies are color-coded according to their position within each stage, while the game visually enlarges Bill’s arms to suggest the weapon he is using.
