About this game

Beach-Head II continues the conflict with the former dictator from the first game, now known as The Dragon. Seeking revenge against the victorious Allied forces, he kidnaps hostages and holds them in his island fortress.

Gameplay

The game is divided into four sequences, each with its own perspective and controls. Players can control either the Allied Commander, J.P. Stryler, or The Dragon.

  • Attack: Allied soldiers are dropped from a helicopter and must advance while taking cover. The Dragon uses a machine gun to shoot them down.
  • Rescue: The Allied player protects hostages crossing an open courtyard with a machine gun, while The Dragon selects among four defensive weapons.
  • Escape: The Allied player loads hostages onto helicopters and pilots them away under attack. The Dragon controls automated defenses and aims tanks at the helicopters.
  • Battle: The Allied Commander and The Dragon face each other underground, throwing poontas until one remains.

Beach-Head II was released in 1984 for Amstrad CPC, Apple II, Atari 8-bit, Commodore C64/128/MAX, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
