Beats of Rage

Beats of Rage is an open-source brawler fighting game engine that includes a 2D beat ’em up inspired by the Street of Rage series.

Players guide Kula Gem, Max Bacon, or Mandy Bluegard through levels in a city controlled by a criminal syndicate led by Mr. Y. The heroes fight regular enemies and bosses using four movement controls and three action keys. Some stages include death drops that must be avoided, while enemies can be thrown into the void.

The game features character sprites and some background art taken from the King of Fighters games. It was developed and published by Senile Team and released on November 1, 2003, for DOS, Dreamcast, Linux, OpenBOR, PC (Microsoft Windows), and PlayStation 2.
