A Cold War point-and-click adventure set in postwar Berlin
The briefing
Berlin 1948 is a point-and-click puzzle adventure set shortly after the war, when several countries are competing for control of Berlin. An atomic bomb has been smuggled into the city by the Americans, and players take the role of an American spy tasked with guarding it and keeping it out of Stalin’s hands.
The game is an early example of a third-person perspective point-and-click adventure. Its interface is somewhat more complicated than the SCUMM system. It was developed by Time Warp Software and published by Rainbow Arts Software for Amiga, Atari ST, and DOS.
