A bird-focused action simulator about feeding and raising nestlings

The briefing

About this game

In Bird Week, players take the role of a bird caring for nestlings. The main objective is to collect and deliver butterflies so the baby birds can grow large enough to leave the nest.

Gameplay

  • Choose between the normal game and a single-level practice game.
  • Feed the required number of butterflies to the baby birds.
  • Lose a life if a baby bird starves or if a predator catches the player while delivering food.

Seasons and Progression

Each level represents a season in the bird ecosystem. The game begins in early spring, progresses through summer and autumn, and then returns to spring. Completing all 999 levels leads into an endless loop that continues until all lives are lost.

Bird Week was developed by Lenar and published by Toshiba-EMI for the Family Computer and Nintendo Famicom.
