1983 action shooter with guided missiles and scrolling aerial combat
The briefing
Black Hawk is an action arcade shooter released in 1983 for Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum systems. You pilot the Black Hawk aircraft through a series of island bases, targeting tanks, missile launchers, planes, and other enemy hardware to increase the enemy's Strategic Loss Factor.
Each stage is divided into two vertically scrolling sections. In the first, you control a missile camera and guide your shot toward targets by holding fire and releasing it to direct the missile. You cannot lose one of your three lives during this section, but any targets left intact will appear as threats in the second section.
The second section is a scrolling shoot 'em up influenced by Xevious, where you must survive the enemies that remain after the missile phase.
