Action-platform adventure through the kingdom of Allegoria

The briefing

About this game

Black Lamp is a side-on action-platform game set in the kingdom of Allegoria. Controlling Jack, players run, jump, climb, and shoot through static and scrolling rooms connected by doorways in multiple directions while facing continual attacks from creatures.

The objective is to recover nine different colored lamps and return each one to a lamp rack. Eight lamps are randomly scattered throughout the kingdom, with their locations changing in each new game. The ninth, the black lamp, is guarded by a dragon that must be defeated. Because Jack can carry only one lamp at a time, completing a level requires repeated journeys between the lamps and the racks.

Once all nine lamps have been returned, the level is complete and play advances to the next one.
