BlowOut

Blowout is a side-scrolling platform shooter set aboard a space station overrun by hostile aliens. While its graphics use 3D polygons, the action remains largely within a 2D plane.

Players control a soldier fighting through each level in a non-linear fashion. Progress involves battling alien hordes, finding keys, activating switches, using elevators, and ultimately confronting a large boss at the end of a level.
