A five-stage arcade shooter of piloting, rescuing, and survival
The briefing
Blue Moon is a single-screen, side-view arcade shooter in which you pilot an intergalactic spacecraft on a mission to rescue a sister ship and its crew from a hostile planet. Across five stages, you must avoid obstacles and creatures while managing a total of five lives.
Before starting, you can choose a skill level from 1 to 15. The stages include connecting a falling control module to your spacecraft, surviving a comet storm, battling Blue Bouncers and their plasma bombs, and defeating the large Tecom Man while avoiding droids and alien eggs. In the final stage, you must guide your descending craft onto one of three landing pads, with smaller pads awarding more points. A successful landing restarts the game at a higher difficulty.
Blue Moon was developed by Jason H. Perkins and published by Merlin Software for Commodore 64 and Commodore C64/128/MAX.
