Olympic-style alpine skiing competition featuring downhill, super G, and slalom events.
The briefing
Bode Miller Alpine Skiing brings an Olympic-style skiing competition to mobile phones, with single-player and two-player hot-seat modes. Players can choose between downhill, super G, and slalom events, along with different skis that affect maneuverability, speed, and tucking.
Races begin with a timed start sequence in which three beeps or flashes must be pressed accurately to build launch power. On the course, players use left and right controls to turn and the OK button to enter a tight tuck or recover from losing balance. Tighter turns improve cornering but can reduce speed, while tucking increases speed and helps maintain momentum over jumps at the cost of maneuverability.
Energy recharges more quickly when the skier is not tucked. At the finish, a double tap can perform a reach that saves a small amount of time but consumes energy. Slalom events use faster, more sensitive left-and-right movements, making timing especially important.
Hitting course boundaries or obstacles causes a crash and ends the race. Success depends on precise turning, well-timed tucks, careful energy management, and an accurate launch.
