An unreleased Atari 2600 word-game prototype by David Crane
The briefing
Boggle is an unreleased Atari 2600 puzzle prototype programmed by David Crane while he was working at Atari. Based on the popular word game, it challenges two players to form as many words as possible from a random 4x4 grid of letters.
Each player can create up to eight words, likely reflecting the Atari 2600's memory limitations. The prototype appears close to completion but contains glitches, including letters that do not immediately appear in the grid when a game begins. The reason it was never completed and released is unknown.
