The briefing

About this game

Breath of Fire IV follows Nina, princess of Wyndia, and Cray, chieftain of the Woren tribe, as they search for Cray's missing relatives after a diplomatic mission goes mysteriously wrong. Their journey becomes entangled with Ryu, a young boy with no memory of where he came from, and the awakening of the ancient Emperor Fou Lu, who seeks to reclaim and rule the human world.

This fourth entry in Capcom's Breath of Fire series is a traditional Japanese-style RPG with turn-based combat, party management, and linear story progression. Characters can grow stronger and learn new skills by serving masters found in different towns, while Ryu retains the series' signature ability to transform into a dragon during battle. The game also includes several mini-games, including the returning fishing activity.
