The briefing

About this game

Burnout: Dominator is a racing game for PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable, released on March 6, 2007. Developed by EA UK and published by Electronic Arts, it brings back the Burnout feature of draining a complete boost meter without stopping.

Gameplay

The game adds four modes built around dangerous driving and score-building:

  • Maniac Mode: Earn points through drifts, air, oncoming driving, and near misses. Chained Burnouts increase the score multiplier.
  • Drift Challenge: Accumulate as much drifting distance as possible.
  • Near Miss Challenge: Focus on earning near-miss bonuses.
  • Burnout Challenge: Focus on building a Burnout score.

Chaining Burnouts increases the score multiplier in the challenge modes that support it. The game includes 12 tracks across eight real-world locations, with forward and reverse configurations for each track.

Features and modes

Burnout: Dominator does not include Crash Mode, Traffic Checking Mode, or online multiplayer. The PSP version includes Burnout HQ, which supports uploading scores and downloading a new track.
