About this game

Butcher Hill is an action-focused shooter built around a mission to rescue POWs held at a guerrilla outpost. The game is divided into three sections, each with a different challenge.

Gameplay

  • Navigate a dinghy along a river while avoiding mines, rocks, and other obstacles. Collected ammunition can be used to destroy mines.
  • Enter the jungle and fight enemy soldiers while avoiding mines. A compass collected during the river section displays the current direction, while defeating all jungle soldiers provides extra ammunition and stamina.
  • Attack the enemy camp by destroying huts with bullets or grenades, while watching for soldiers attempting to leave and call for reinforcements.

Originally released in 1988, Butcher Hill was developed by Imagitec and published by Gremlin Graphics Software for Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore C64/128/MAX, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum systems.
