About this game

Captain Planet and the Planeteers is an action-platform game loosely based on the environmentalist animated series. Released in 1990, it was published by Mindscape and Sega, with development credited to Chris Gray Enterprises and Sega.

Gameplay

The Amiga/Atari version features five Planeteer stages followed by a final Captain Planet stage. Planeteer levels focus on cleaning up pollution with magical ring powers and rescuing animals using Planeteer vehicles. Players must complete the objectives to open each level’s exit, while environmental hazards and monsters can cost lives.

In the final stage, Captain Planet navigates through the level by using and swapping powers held in bubbles before facing one of several ecovillains, including Hoggish Greedly, Dr. Blight and MAL, Looten Plunder and Argos Bleak, or Duke Nukem.
