The briefing

About this game

Carrier Force is an operational-level strategy game focused on combat between American and Japanese forces in 1942. Each turn represents one hour of action while the computer manages administrative tasks, leaving players to issue orders and develop their strategy.

The game includes four scenarios: Midway, Coral Sea, The Battle of the Eastern Solomons, and The Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands. Major warships and aircraft are represented in detail.

Up to two people can play, or one player can face the computer-controlled Japanese side. Victory points are calculated at the end of a game, with the difference between United States and Japanese scores determining the victory level. Carrier Force is an advanced game with an estimated playing time of 3 to 10 hours. It was later updated as Carrier Strike.
