Chaos Break is a third-person shooting game with survival-horror elements, developed and published by Taito Corporation. Released on January 27, 2000, it is a spin-off set in the same universe as the arcade game Chaos Heat.
The story follows Mitsuki and Rick, members of an investigatory and cleansing force sent to an abandoned biochemical laboratory on an isolated island. Their mission is to uncover the cause of an “anomalous thermal reaction.” Progress involves battling alien lifeforms and the laboratory’s automated defense system.
Computer terminals add a survival-horror layer, allowing players to save their progress and read files that reveal the game’s backstory.
