Chessmaster

Chessmaster is a chess-focused strategy game offering 16 skill levels, from beginner to expert. Its Teaching mode highlights strong moves for players learning the game.

Players can arrange the board to recreate classic situations, hide the opponent’s pieces for an added challenge, and take back moves after making a mistake. A password function allows an in-progress game to be resumed, while the game can also complete a match through checkmate.

The game supports solo play and multiplayer through the Game Boy Link Cable. It was released on November 15, 1999, and is listed for Nintendo Game Boy Advance, Nintendo Game Boy Color, PlayStation 2, Sony PlayStation 2, and Xbox.
