About this game

Citadel is a methodical shooter focused on planning and careful movement rather than fast reflexes. Players control the remote-operated Monitor from a top-down perspective while exploring an underground city complex on a supposedly uninhabited planet.

The Monitor moves in four directions and fires across eight. Its capture probe can collect items, operate switches, and take control of hostile drones. Captured drones can serve as shields, battering rams, or plugs for enemy traps, while energy pickups support further captures and weapon upgrades such as rapid-fire and two- or three-way shooting.

Eight cities await exploration, with each divided between two floors connected by lift shafts. Progress commonly involves moving between floors and disabling beam generators that obstruct the exit, all while avoiding stationary and mobile defense systems with varied attack patterns.
