Claws of Despair

Claws of Despair is a traditional fantasy text adventure created with Gilsoft’s Quill adventure generation software and presented with some graphics. Players interact with the game through a textual interface using verb-and-noun commands.

As the son of a noble house, you must recover the Staff of Sarfrin for your king and people to save the land. Your only protection is the Star of Thorgrim, which is also required to touch the staff. The quest leads through encounters with wizards and dragons before a final confrontation with the villain guarding the artifact.

The game was published by Players Software for Commodore C64/128/MAX and Sinclair ZX Spectrum computers.
