Codename: Iceman

Codename: ICEMAN is an adventure game set in the early 21st century, during a global oil shortage. After Soviet agents kidnap the US ambassador in Tunisia, naval officer Johnny Westland is sent to rescue him and prevent the crisis from escalating.

Players explore from a third-person perspective, moving in eight directions and entering text commands to interact with the environment. The Look command can produce different descriptions depending on the protagonist’s position.

The game emphasizes realistic procedures, including military instructions and first aid. Failing to follow them correctly can lead to dead ends, requiring an earlier save to be restored. A substantial portion also involves navigating a submarine and engaging enemy craft.
