Commando Raid

Commando Raid is an action arcade shooter for the Atari 2600, released in 1982 by U.S. Games Corporation and published by James Wickstead Design Associates.

Android commando raiders attack in waves, arriving by troop-carrying helicopters and descending as paratroopers. Players must stop them before they land on buildings, where each paratrooper causes damage; three landings destroy a building and place it under commando control.

Paratroopers that reach the gun emplacement expand a tunnel toward it, threatening to plant an explosive charge. An aircraft may also appear and drop a bomb capable of destroying every building and the gun emplacement, so it must be shot down—or its bomb must be destroyed.
