A two-game turn-based strategy collection for Apple II
The briefing
Computer Conflict combines two turn-based wargames: Rebel Force and Red Attack!.
This company-level simulation places a player-controlled modern combined-arms force against a computer-controlled rebel force on a hexagonal board. Players take turns moving units across five scenarios. Victory goes to the side that reaches 100 points. The player scores by occupying the rebel city, with stronger occupying units earning more points per turn. Rebel forces gain units during the battle and score for holding the left side of the screen, destroying player units, and keeping their city free of occupying forces.
This two-player combat simulation features an attacking mixed Soviet tank and infantry force against a defending infantry force. The attacker wins by occupying two of the three enemy towns at the end of five turns, while the defender wins by preventing that objective. Unit placement is randomized at the start of each game, and each player may reject the map up to three times before accepting the scenario.
Released for Apple II on August 2, 1980, Computer Conflict was developed and published by Strategic Simulations Inc.
