About this game

Confrontation is a two-player wargame in which blue and red forces compete for control of cities across a modern European theatre. The supplied scenario features land and air units operating between rivers, with victory going to the first player to control the cities.

Gameplay

Players command tanks, mechanized infantry, engineers, flak, anti-tank units, scouts, infantry, artillery, paratroops, fighters, ground-attack planes, and transport planes. Units have different abilities and tasks, while terrain affects their actions. Aircraft consume fuel and require an airfield to begin operations.

  • One scenario is included with the master program.
  • Available forces can be changed for each side.
  • Each side may have up to 35 units.
  • An in-game editor supports creating and editing maps.

Released in 1982 for the Atari 2600 and Sinclair ZX Spectrum, the game was developed by Kim Ellis and Robert T. Smith and published by Answer Software Corporation and M.C. Lothlorien.
