A geopolitical strategy game of negotiation, alliances, and conquest

The briefing

About this game

Conquest of the World is a geopolitical strategy game centered on negotiations, alliances, and military conquest. Players lead a homeland toward world domination by building its power base through successful conquests and diplomatic agreements.

The game represents the world of the early 1980s as 43 countries divided into 11 geopolitical zones. Land, sea, and air forces can be deployed in different combinations, with operations dependent on energy units that represent supplies and relative force strength.

Each country is assigned a power-base value based on population, territory, economic capability, military capability, strategic purpose, and national will. Players can also update these values to reflect changes in governments and world power. The country with the strongest power base at the end of the game wins.
