About this game

Cosmic Cruiser is a side-view, single-screen arcade shooter released in 1983. As the pilot of an outdated cruiser, you must rescue the crew of an Earth space station seized by the Rallom Empire.

Leave your ship in a space suit and use the roof-mounted cannon to open portals on the station. Once a portal is available, fly to it, extract a crew member, grab them as they float through space, and deliver them to the open hatch near the bottom of the screen.

Rallom Fighters attack by bombing or colliding with you, while Alien Warriors can reclaim rescued crew members and attack directly. You are protected while operating the cannon, but flying hazards can cost one of your three lives. Your pistol can defeat Alien Warriors, although its ammunition is limited.

A level ends when the timer reaches zero. Bonus points are awarded for rescued crew members, and your ammunition is restored to full. The game was developed and published by Imagine Software for the BBC Microcomputer System, Commodore C64/128/MAX, Dragon 32/64, PC (Microsoft Windows), Sinclair ZX Spectrum, and ZX Spectrum.
