Cratermaze

Cratermaze is an overhead action-puzzle game in which each stage is a maze filled with enemies and items. The objective is to collect every key and open the exit door while avoiding or eliminating enemies.

Players primarily fight by digging holes. Enemies that walk into a hole become temporarily trapped, allowing the player to fill it and defeat them. Temporary power-ups include rayguns, yo-yos, and upgrades that extend digging reach for creating multiple holes at once. Several bosses also appear throughout the game.

The Japanese release, Doraemon: Meikyu Daisakusen, features Doraemon and his friends. Cratermaze is a conversion of the 1987 Nichibutsu coin-op Kid no Hore Hore Daisakusen, which also received a modified Famicom version called Booby Kids.

Developed by Hudson Soft and published by NEC, Cratermaze was released for NEC TurboGrafx-16, TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine, and Wii.
