Overhead racing sequel with split-screen multiplayer and slippery car handling
The briefing
Crazy Cars II is an overhead racing sequel in which players compete against a field of nine computer-controlled cars for championship points based on finishing positions. The drivers use humorous names such as Ayrton Sendup and T Hairy Bootson.
The game adds a split-screen two-player mode and changes its power-ups to emphasize control of the slippery cars. Handling improvements have been removed in favor of additional weapons and engine upgrades. Mock driving-test questions, including questions about stopping distances, award or deduct money and points depending on the answers.
Released in 1987, Crazy Cars II was developed and published by Titus and appeared on Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Amstrad GX4000, Atari ST/STE, Commodore 64, Commodore C64/128/MAX, DOS, Mac, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
