About this game

Crime and Punishment is a legal simulation and strategy game released in 1984 for the Apple II, Commodore C64/128/MAX, and DOS. Developed and published by Imagic, it places the player in the role of a sentencing judge handling criminal cases.

Before deciding on a sentence, players can review the nature of the crime, the defendant's criminal history, pre-sentencing reports, and other known facts. Available sentences include probation, jail, prison, and, in murder cases, the death penalty. For imprisonment, the player also selects the length of the prison term.

Scoring is based on how closely the player's sentence matches the decision made by a real-life judge in the case.
