A classic point-and-click murder mystery aboard a sailing ship

The briefing

About this game

In Cruise for a Corpse, Inspector Raoul Dusentier boards a sailing ship for a relaxing week at sea, only for its wealthy owner, Niklos Karaboudjan, to be murdered on the second day. With every passenger a potential suspect, Dusentier must uncover motives, question the ship’s occupants, and collect evidence.

This point-and-click adventure emphasizes conversations and timing over traditional object-based puzzles. Clues advance the clock in ten-minute increments, changing who can be found around the ship. Evidence is also hidden throughout the vessel, while the context-sensitive interface provides appropriate actions for objects and a dedicated inventory view. The game features polygonal characters and Delphine Software’s Cinematique “Evolution 2” interface.
